So day one is spent degreasing and labelling, nothing more. The primer is shellac on oak and stained wood, a bonding product on melamine and laminate, and a standard primer on painted MDF. The coats are thin and sprayed, and each one is sanded before the next.

The doors go to a filtered booth, and the boxes get sprayed at home inside sealed plastic. That routine is the same on a six-door vanity and a fifty-piece two-tone kitchen, and it is the reason the finish is still tight at the cutlery drawer years later.
